The natural conservative / reactionary tradition for the Anglosphere is Toryism. We stand opposed to our foes, the Whigs and their modern day descendants, both of whom are responsible for all those left leaning social changes that have happened in the Anglosphere since the 17th century.
Since I live in an Anglosphere country, that makes me naturally attracted to Toryism. However, I am aware that term has many meanings.
So, what kind of Tory are you? And me?
Am I a capitalist, British Conservative party Tory? No, no, no, no and no. Nope. Big business must not get in the way of society and God.
Am I a Victorian idealist, British Empire man? Depends on what you mean. I do not think the British Empire should try to retake the colonies. And I am also skeptical of the much touted (among reactionary circles) Victorian Age, being a Catholic. The idea of austere Victorian Protestants comes across as very repugnant to me. No offense to current Prots reading this blog.
Do I believe in an empire centred on commercial activities? Well, while I believe commercial activities are very necessary for a country, it is not something I would put above other things such as the lives of common people, arts and intellect, and sacrality. So the British Empire of the West / East Indian Companies did not sound very attractive.
Do I believe in an Anglosphere which will “lead humanity in the advance of freedom and democracy as opposed to Communism and radical Islam”? Hell no. Freedom will not beat those two things.
So that leaves me with a question: What sort of future do I want for the Anglosphere?
I am a medievalist. If I could choose a point in the past to live, I would live in medieval England, either during King Arthur’s or the Crusades’ times. The fabled medieval ages with its stable social structure beats other things that came after that. I personally believe that many aspects of its could be applied to our current world. Religiousity. Heroicism. Love of the local things and people. A king to look upon. A stable aristocratic life. And of course, being an actual warrior / knight.
So what kind of Tory are you? Consider it carefully.
I’m a James VI & I sort of Tory who would be an English Nonjuror or Scots Episcopalian and, though not at all a papist, leans strongly toward Jacobitism.

You may or may not be aware of it, but there was actually a movement in the early Victorian era to make the Church of England less austere and more catholic, the Oxford Movement. From the Wikipedia article on the subject, it looks like the Whigs didn’t like it that much (maybe that’s an understatement).
As for my own Toryism, I am almost tempted to say that ‘Toryism’ is simply the default mode of Indo-European civilizations prior to the onset of constitutionalism, and democracy. So what type of Tory am I? even though I am not officially a Christian (right now), I am probably a Charles I sort of Tory, pro-monarchy, and pro-tradition. There is even rumor that Charles I was beheaded on behalf of certain Jews who wanted him dead. If Charles I had won the English Civil war the Jews would have never been readmitted to England and this whole Rothschild mess would not have developed, at least not like it has today.

Woah, that is interesting. Where did you learn of the rumor?

Apparently, my comments aren’t posting when I insert the link. It came from Nathanael Kapner’s website.
